Edgbaston Day Trip

Great the more the merrier , and good call about parking ! Thursday last year the £10 a day car park was full so I did a similar thing, much cheaper.

If I remember rightly the prices basically rise throughout the week starting at £10 on the Monday. One of the days I am meeting up with my niece but other than that I will be on my tod.

Last year was my first experience of this top class event. Added to that I was fortunate to have the company of a few forum members on one of the days when it didn't rain haha. Daisy, Julia and Priesty were all in attendance, also I spoke to Miriam eventhough I had no idea it was her until much later on. So basically putting out some early feelers to see who might be going this year and who would be interested in meeting up.

Dare I say it we may even have GB participation in the latter stages this year.

Yes WC 9/6, I'll probably arrive on Sunday the 9th but will be there until Saturday 15th, so if you decide to come, we can exchange contact details nearer the time.

Last year they did the qualifying at the weekend which will be 8th/9th, and it was free to get in (though they may charge for parking - I never used the standard car park, there's enough road parking a few minutes walk away that's free, and I'm stingy!).

I can only get there Monday or Tuesday or wednesday afternoon, but I can do all day as I've now retired. Last year I did the 4pm late entry as I was working those days.

I can't do thursday or later as my son is having an operation.

I'll be there on 10th and 11th smile

Incidentally I should also be at Nottingham on 4th June in case any else might be planning to go.

I really want to go to Edgbaston but start a new permanent job sometime between 3rd and 14th June so have no idea yet what my days off would be. I've had to ring fence some advance dates already (21/22 at Boodles and 29/30 June + 4 July) so may have to take pot luck on days off which are unlikely to co-incide with getting to tourneys!

Will it be possible to just turn up and get tickets on the day on Monday?

I'd have thought so.  I went on Monday a couple of years ago and the Centre Court stands were only 10% occupied and it was only £10.00.  It was also wet and cold!!!

But I watched Heather play.

That would be a shame if you couldn't make it, I like to think that our unrivalled chearleading performance enabled Hev to get through her match last year.

Monday and Tuesday are a definite now. Sunday is a possibility, but i'll probably end up at Guildford for the cricket.

I'm thinking Monday definately. Sunday last year was the fqr only, so there was no play after all courts had 2 matches, and I can't get there before 2pm.

I might make Saturday afternoon, but am ruling out most of the rest of the week.
