I think if Klein behaves himself then he may get support. I dont think changing countries due to a fall out with the tennis federation is a good reason for switching. Smacks of throwing rattles out of a pram.
Marsalek moved here from the Czech Republic when he was very young and has subsequently played for GB- I'm pretty sure he was born here too. His parents are Czech but he is very much British and always has been, so yes- not really relevant to this thread & doesn't mirror RJA's disapproval of Klein.
I don't know much about Klein or what has gone on in the past (other than what is written on this board) but I feel inclined to give him a chance as the switch is clearly him trying to turn over a new leaf... whether he has actually matured or not is another matter and remains to be seen. Having said that, I still don't really regard him as British and anyone who chooses not to support him won't get any grief from me.

This website gives his place of birth as being Taunton.
To throw my 2 cents in... I'm indifferent to Klein. Whether he truly views himself as British is up for debate, but his racism isn't good. Then again neither are the homophobic slurs some GB players have reportedly used in the past, but there you go. Anyway lets see how he does in Paris...
I don't doubt that as soon as the young man gets a couple of wins under his belt the level of support will start to rise. We're a fickle lot in reality.
Perhaps, but not from me.
I'm sure I've seen posts from you supporting Jimbob Marsalek.
Congratulations on producing one of the most moronic posts I have ever seen on this forum.

Chill bro. If you think supporting Jimbob Marzi is mutually exclusive to supporting Brydan Klein that's kosher from my point of view. If I think they're one and the same, that should also be cool. Don't sweat it.
Bourgue may be lower ranked, and younger, but as David C has commented here and he/others have noted on other threads, Bourgue and Pouille have been recognised for a while as having huge potential. The closeness of this match isn't really that surprising, is it?

Here here. I'm not likely to actively support Klein until I can see change. Similarly, I don't actively support players like Dan Evans who use homophobic language on court either.
Even though I'm not sure I want to support him yet, I'd still be pleased if he won - assuming of course that he doesn't do anything inappropriate on the way...
