Disappointing. Not the fact she lost - was always going to be close - but the run of 7 games lost in the middle of the match, which effectively decided the outcome.
Yes Lisa's ranking will go up as a result of this tournament; yes it's another career high - but whilst she has recorded some good wins, she rarely destroys opponents in early rounds and rarely wins tournaments. All good competitive stuff, but......
Her 19 year old opponent today (yet another Serb we've never heard of, but who looks to be one to watch) is ranked similarly to Lisa. The difference is that she has WON 7 $10k tournaments in the last 12 months, and 2 $25k tournaments.....and looks nailed on to win her third this week.
Who should we look out for?
I think lisa could get inside top 200 she is still improving.
In the short term Lisa's ranking may actually drop to currently looking like high 260s since she won 35 points for RU in Astana in the same week last year.
The 14 points will add and the 35 points come off during the French Open fortnight though she will I imagine also have a chance to add points in the Nottingham 75K event during the second week.
With another 10 points due to come off on 17/06, top 250 for Wimbledon looks rather dicey. If that mark is going to be important regarding a MDWC, Lisa needs some good grass court results and she is suited to grass.
I have a strange feeling, based on little more than intuition, that Naomi's form is turning around, and she'll be back inside the top 250 by the years end.

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
Jaksic went on to win the title here for the loss of just 30 games, with only Naomi (8), Lisa (7) and the player who beat Samantha taking more than 5 games off her.
