We have a quartet in the main draw here, including Cameron Norrie playing his first junior event as a Brit, and seemingly having the best of the draws (though the qualifier he faces reached the semis at the Banana Bowl G1). Evan Hoyt will have to take on Bournemouth Futures winner Borna Coric, while Luke Bambridge will probably face top seed Nikola Milojevic in round 2. Jonny O'Mara is the on;y one in action tomorrow, second on (8am BST start) against talented young American Stefan Kozlov, who reached the Orange Bowl under 12 and under14 finals whilst a year under age, and claimed his first ATP ranking points at the age of 14. Stefan was born in Macedonia and is strong on clay, having recently reached the Copa Gerdau final, losing out to Gianluigi Quinzi.
good result!! i know jonny has been playing very well lately, but, having seen him play last wimbledon, kozlov is a great prospect and so im pleasantly surprised!!
would be great to see this group of boys really push each other on & up in both the junior and, more importantly, senior rankings!
Can I say I'm not having seen him play at Newcastle recently, should have beaten Marcus there and really impressed me with the quality of his tennis. I think he's suddenly found his best form and then some in the last month.
Briefly ... Cameron lost 6-2 1-6 6-4 Evan is currently on live score (link above) with pithy summary of each point in the middle of the box - currently 3-6*
Jonny's photo adorns the ITF's article on day 1. Luke does get a chance to play Milojevic, who has an outstanding record in G1s and weaker GAs, but less impressive in the biggest GAs

No upset for Luke but Jonny maintains British interest in singles. Next up is a home player who some on the board will remember from the controversial match against Liam Broady here 2 years ago. Liam led 5-2 in the final set tie-break only to cramp, seek medical assistance and be given a 2 point penalty for time violation. Stefano Napolitano went on to win that match. He was in the junior top 10 at the start of the year, but has been concentrating mainly on Futures events since, and is ranked in the 800s
