Well, it's 60 points for her R1 win increasing to 120 if she wins her R2 match against Lepchenko to get into the QF, which is maybe what DF means. And she will drop 1 point from Strasbourg last year.
Yet more outrageous behaviour from Yulia Putintseva reported by her opponent today, Coco Vandeweghe. She felt so incensed that she tweeted the Russian's precise words to her at the net, after Puntintseva won the match. Disgraceful. It's almost like the Russian is approaching the sport as "entertainment", creating a persona for herself like one of those pantomime baddies from WWF wrestling. This adds to the list of alleged disdemeanors including swearing, abuse to linespeople and opponents, screaming, racquet abuse, time-wasting and deliberately disrupting play, as well as smashing her AO (or US, I forget) juniors runners-up trophy. I'd love to see her try this with Serena or Maria!!! If the WTA don't sort this behaviour out immediately, I really think this will get out of hand, and someone will clock her......with some justification.
Not a surprise, of course. Yulia called Ms Vandeweghe a twit in response, and jealous that someone so much younger was a much better player!!!!!
After all, this is the same person who at 15 or 16, when all her Russian female players were offering kind words and tributes for the retirement of Elena Dementieva, felt compelled to write on FB something on the lines of "thank God the bi*ch has gone; everyone hated her, and noone will miss her". I refer to my earlier comments about her approach being part marketing strategy............tennis equivalent of the "wrestling baddie"
Bally did very well to finish it off in two sets; they went off for bad light in the other match yesterday about 15 minutes afterwards and there hasn't been any play at all so far today.
