RE: Week 21 - Egypt F8 - ($10,000) - Sharm El Sheikh (clay)

Good to see JWH back playing - Fitzy said in Vietnam that he was playing really well(thought he would beat Pouille)

See all these guys are staying on in Egypt for a few weeks on the clay. Not sure why there isn't a grass court futures tournament in the UK in June.

Sadly not the second.

Not to be for Fitzy today. He goes down 6-4 in the 3rd set.

A pretty disappointing result from Fitzy.

Obviously very disappointing for Fitzy when he finally had a top 4 seeding. Checking his opponent's record though, he had a career high of 15 as a junior a couple of years ago and a career high of 645 in seniors last October and reached his 3rd Futures semi in December. He hadn't had a great start to 2013 though, getting stuck in those huge qualifying draws in Turkey then losing in R1 of all three Futures in his home country (Chile) last month.

So, someone you might expect Fitzy to beat but also someone capable of beating him if he had one of his good days and Fitzy was slightly off. I'm guessing that's what happened.

Will be interested to see what Fitzy says either on twitter or on here. On paper that is a really disappointing defeat.

JWH serving for the match at 5-2
