David survived the Australian resurgence and righted himself, fought back, and broke to take the set.
7-5

Let me do this a bit more officially

SF: (7) David Rice WR 690 beat (4) Colin Ebelthite (AUS) WR 580 by 7-5 6-2

A win tomorrow in the final should see David back in the top 500.

On this form (9 matches in a row, all in straight sets, none needing a tiebreak), not really sure it matters who David faces in the final (obviously we'd all want Richard to be that man), he ought to be able to take care of either. With a good possibility of 2 $10k tournament wins in a row, David starts to look a very good candidate for a few singles WCs (at least into qualifying) for bigger events during the GB grass court season; and surely his doubles partnership ought to be looked upon more favourably too.

Pleased for him. I hope Richard gives the young Canadian more of a test that Jamie managed yesterday. Gabb has now reached a few $10k SFs, and is making slow and steady progress up the world rankings, so it would be pleasing to see yet another maiden finalist from our boys. Winning becomes a habit.

David Rice has the ability to do well on fast courts agree he should pick up wc hopefully in the wimbledon qualifying but maybe too late for that

Scottie1 may be referring to the guidelines which state (if I remember correctly) that you have to be within top 500 to be eligible for qualifying WC.

But you would hope common sense would prevail when an inform Brit hits form at the perfect time and starts playing like a top 300 player
