And well done Coup Droit for putting such perspective to Laura's still ( one very much hopes ) blossoming career. Yes, she frustrates at times and that service does clearly need sorted. But she continues generally to move in the right direction ( with smaller dips along the way ) and being top ranked teenager in the world, inside the top 40, and with some clear areas for improvement, still offers much encouragement for the future. Particularly with her big game and disproportionate number of wins against top 30 players.
Maybe worth looking at where she stood this time last year regards to ranking and CH to add further perspective.
It looks like Laura will end the week at 35 and be the 3rd reserve for a Roland Garros seeding unless Morita or Dominguez Lino reach the semis or Halep reaches the final.

So for the second French Open in a row Laura will be hoping for some pre tournament injuries (or she would be if she wasn't too nice to have such thoughts)
Beaten in straight sets but won more points, can't happen too often.
My thoughts exactly - a strange match, how Robmond contrived to lose it in that manner is a mystery. 1/10 on break opportunities probably tells you a lot though. And they seemed to have 30-0 or 30-15 on their opponents serve a lot even when a break chance didn't arise from it.
Credit to Cibulkova and Niculescu for fighting off all that pressure.
R2: Laura ROBSON/Lisa RAYMOND (GBR/USA) 102 lost to Dominika CIBULKOVA/Monica NICULESCU (SVK/ROU) 140 4-6 4-6

Strange match - not sure I've ever seen a player/team win more points in a straight sets no tiebreak loss before, but Robmond suffered at the hands of the no Ad scoring system today.
At least the match stats suggest they are playing OK ahead of the French. Heavy conditions today, which Laura will hope isn't the case at Roland Garros.
A bit of a shame, as I went last year and saw Laura, Hev, Bally and Anne all play on the same day and the draw currently looks very short of Brits. I guess both Hev and Laura don't want to play ITF tournaments any more, but won't have a problem getting a wild card if they have a late change of mind.
