4 DFs in 4 games from just 9 second serves. So almost half her second serves became DFs!

However well you might be playing, how are you supposed to hold serve against the world #1 with 1 or 2 DFs in key games?

Hope for better second set.

2 DFs in the game to be broken for 2-4 and another DF on match point down for the second tournament in a row. 8 DFs in 8 service games including all 5 games she had her serve broken. I'm not saying she could have won today even without this problem, but if you can keep a match closer, it gives more time for your own form to improve, and your opponent's to falter. So  frustrating to keep putting so much pressure on yourself.

Still, her form is better than it was 3 weeks ago.

Decent effort probably a 6/7 out of ten, Serena was on top of her game and probably 6-2 6-3 would have been a fairer reflection of the match. Laura was more aggressive with her 2nd serve tonight and as a result served more DFs. A few inches here and there and Serena may have got rattled.
