What happened to Manisha? Was she injured because I recall she made in to the top 800 a couple years ago the same time as Eleanor Dean won a 10k in Holland.

I thought the main draw must be out surprisingly early, but in fact the match against Fuentes Pérez is a FQR match, not main draw R1. That's obvious from the ITF drawsheet, maybe not so obvious on whatever drawsheet or OoP Peter got it from.

The Boiled Egg's "that's as good as a bye" when I tweeted that draw reminded me that Riley is the player who got thrashed 3 & 0 by Robyn Beddow when they both got surprise qualifying wild cards at Bogotá WTA last year and got drawn against each other in QR1.

R1: FOSTER, Manisha (GBR) UNR Q beat RILEY, Alexandra (USA) 1081 by 1 & 1
R2: FOSTER, Manisha (GBR) UNR Q v BELZUNCE-CROMPIN, Ana (ESP) Q 1060 (CH 670 in 2009)
Another fellow-qualifier for Manisha in R2, but this one upset Jade and Lisa in Sunderland recently and knocked out 2nd seed Tatiana Bua WR 439 in 3 sets today.

Nathan Rooney@rooneynathan3m Congrats to @ManishaFoster on her 2nd round win in barcelona today after saving 5 match point, hard work paying off @SotoTennis
Apologies to users of the top 25 table - I forgot to check whether Manisha was playing R2 today or Thursday, which is why I missed her win until mid-evening too! Anyway, at least it means the GB girls got a singles win today!
Having decided last week to cut mention of all routine 10K losses early in the week in order to reduce my daily tweet count, the Brits responded by having a good week last week and then, even without any events in the UK, managing to win 28 main draw matches so far this week, with 21 players (16 men and 5 women) still in action on Thursday! You'd almost think they were Spanish ...
Not quite what I had intended, but I'll let them off
