And second set lost 6-3.

Kyle didnt have any BP chances unfortunately. Seems a bit too big of a step up today but never mind, decent week nonetheless.

Kyle was completely outplayed today, judging by the scoreline. No BPs, almost no points against serve in the first set, opponent broke him 4 times in 2 sets. The younger Melzer has definitely been on a terrific run in the last 3-4 months, pushing on upwards towards the 200 mark at speed.

I'd be interested to see the scoreline in a year's time, or whenever next they play - will be rather less one-side, and possibly reversed if Kyle keeps improving. Still an OK week, but Kyle's scores suggested he wasn;t playing as well as the week before, so this result was almost a certainty.

Good luck for RG Juniors!

SF: (1) Gerald Melzer (AUT) WR 237 beat Kyle Edmund WR 511 : 6-2 6-3

No disgrace in that against a quality in form opponent and a good return of 24 points for the last two weeks.

And of course - What Korriban said.

Yes indeed good luck for RG juniors. Actually might be a blessing in disguise for Kyle to play such a good opponent now, as it will certainly highlight current weaknesses for him to work on in the training block between now and RG
