Darren & Adham make the trek all the way to Uzbekistan only to draw arguably the most dangerous pair of "floaters" in the draw in the first round:

R1:  Mikhail Elgin & Alexander Kudryavtsev (RUS/RUS) WR 677 vs Adham El-Effendi (USA) & Darren Walsh WR 646 cry

As I feared:

R1:  Mikhail Elgin & Alexander Kudryavtsev (RUS/RUS) WR 677 defeated Adham El-Effendi (USA) & Darren Walsh WR 646 by 7-6(5) 7-5 cry

Looks as though they managed to give the pesky Russkies a bit of a run for their money:  the match lasted just over an hour & 22 minutes. hmm
