RE: Week 19 - Great Britain F11 ($10,000) - Newcastle (Clay)

That is a shame about Dan he is still sowing his seeds of youth!

More talented than most of the other guys and could be top 100

needs someone like Greg Rusedski Leon Smith to sort him out

Personally I am not inclined to accept the assertions of "Bob the Ball Boy" and his "very reliable source" at face value.

Phil Wright was there yesterday and he said that he even though Dan lost he thought he played well. I will be interested in what Phil has to say about these claims.

It's up to you to believe what you want re the 'allegations' ... but im telling you they are facts and come from dan evans' own mouth... you don't know me or who i am (and i dont feel inclined to share that information) but I guarantee I know more about these players than most of you having played and been in this circle my whole life.

dan evans is one of our best prospects and i truly believe he could be a top 100 player... IF he knuckles down... unfortunately, he doesn't have the right mentality. I'm sure he means what he says, in reference to the article Coup Droit is talking about, but this motivation is either short lived or maybe he just cant help himself. I like evo, I just can't see him producing consistent results any time soon unless he matures drastically in the next year

'needs someone like greg rudsedki, leon smith'- hmm i agree he needs someone stern but a) i don't think leon is the guy- letting him back into ntc after countless problems in the past is a sign of weakness & proof he needs evo more than evo needs him and, b) in all honesty i think it has to come from himself... his personality is such that i don't think many coaches out there can sway him.

When I saw your posts about Jos and Georgie and then a later one about Jess Ren, I thought you had some inside knowledge. Have you been playing (as a career) recently or has your role been more in the coaching, or administration side of the game?

that would be telling!!! you can speculate but all i will say is i don't currently play or work within the lta/any other coaching structure...

i dont want my comments to be taken as being rude or slandering any of the players- i wish for the good health of british tennis- just thought id join in to give a more accurate representation of the players and what happens in some of these tournaments where I can.

often i wont know and in that case i can promise you i wouldnt fabricate stories for the sake of better reading.

oh and good point, forgot to update- georgie is coaching at the wimbledon lakeside club now

ginger light bulb- its hardly provocative when im stating facts. i wouldnt post rumours or slander players without facts. like i said earlier... id prefer to not give my name away- you wouldn't even know if i were male or female.... so you can choose to accept or ignore what i write, or just follow my allegations and count how many turn out to be false....

I neither believe nor disbelieve your claims. As you say, I have no idea who you are and thus have no way of judging whether I should trust you or not.

Everybody's so busy debating the latest Evo apparent faux pas that this seems to have gone unnoticed:

SF:  (2) Axel Michon (FRA) WR 334 defeated Marcus Willis WR 564 by 4-6 6-1 6-2  cry

Not that surprising. Making a SF on clay is a good result for Marcus. He is obviously doing better this year than the last couple of years and he could do some serious damage during the grass court season.

Ashley started well - 5-3* up against Dan. I think he would give Axel a better match than Dan on recent clay court form.

 Exactly.

Still I reckon could very much go either way, Dan is a very decent clay courter when reasonably in the groove.

But Ashley's already a break up in the second:  *1-0.

Dan S is a good player but no spectacular shots I was disappointed I thought he would beat Fitzpatrick in Edinburgh. Ashley has the better game I would say
