I don't think you're the one who should be apologising, SC!

I could almost understand it if the win had come up and then perhaps a call was overruled and the system couldn't cope when the match carried on, but then the 1st set score would surely have been correct. Equally, if the incorrect scoreline had been from another match and they'd put the wrong names into the system, but it doesn't look like that happened either.

Interestingly, the ITF live scoreboard is still showing Neil & Matt as the winners by 1 & 4! confuse  disbelief

.. and bet365 are still paying out on that result too LOL

Probably won't bankrupt them given that I doubt (m)any(one) bet on that match in the first place.

Leaving aside the actual 'allegations', which are only that, not truths, I got the impression from the Birmingham Mail article that when Dan was dropped by the LTA at the end of last year it actually shocked him into action and he started buckling down.
His result at the Davis Cup was obviously great.
With the LTA having taken him back on and now providing a coach and a conditioner and facilities, he may well have relaxed and thought, great, all's back to normal, life's rosy . . .

PS i agree with RJA (the posts crossed), one has to be REALLY careful about insinuating such things. My point above has nothing per se to do with drinking and partying, just the mental approach and regular application that seem to cause Dan a lot of difficulties, and the best way the LTA could help him.

No offence Bob the Ball Boy, but if you're on the inside circle as you claim then I would doubt that you'd be posting such provocative stuff on a public forum

Everybody's so busy debating the latest Evo apparent faux pas that this seems to have gone unnoticed:

SF:  (2) Axel Michon (FRA) WR 334 defeated Marcus Willis WR 564 by 4-6 6-1 6-2  cry

Good stuff by Ashley, though pity as well that it stopped Evo in his tracks.

I don't think these two clay events (here and Sweden next week) are of much importance for Evo's year. I get the feeling that he is only playing them in case he is called upon to play the Davis Cup tie. The grass court season will probably the one that either sets him up for a very good year or leaves him facing another year of the same old story.

So while he would no doubt have liked to have done wll here I don't think he will consider todays defeat to be a serious setback.

Considering Evo had a calf injury two weeks ago and was a doubt for this event, playing three days in a row probably caught up with him.

Or maybe we should check the nightclubs in newcastle for a more accurate explanation of evos result.

not denying that ash has improved tremendously, or saying that he didn't deserve to win... but hardly giving it your best shot turning up with a hangover.

I assume in this case that you were there and witnessed Evo in an obviously hungover state?

It seems very unfair to make an accusation like that unless you are 100% certain, and hard to know how you can be certain, really.

You'd think that after all that has happened in the past, and having been given another chance to to make something of his career, he couldn't possibly have been that stupid ...

The tyros are s !  biggrin

Final:  Luke Bambridge & Cameron Norrie UNR defeated Scott Clayton & Toby Martin WR 2167 by 6-0 4-6 [10-3]

Tough on Scott & Toby, but I'm so pleased for the youngsters!

Meanwhile, back in the singles, Marcus has taken the first set off Michon by 6-4.

Well done, Messrs Bambridge and Norrie. That must be a boost. French Open partnership?

Normal, "hot & cold", service being resumed?  Marcus *0-3 in the second set... hmm

The second set rather ran away from Marcus:  he lost it by 1-6.   cry   I hope he can rediscover his first-set form in the decider!
