I am hoping Andy has a decent run this year and that my jinx doesn't strike again. I will be there from Tuesday to Thursday. On previous occasions where I have gone to tournaments where Andy has been playing, he has either been knocked out before I got there or withdrawn injured.

In the same half as Tsonga and Djokovic.

Me too.  Was hoping to meet up with Jonny Marray who I thought was playing with Paul Hanley (Colin Fleming be injured) but it appears he is not going to be there.

Have a great time Bob. Do you usually meet the players??

Looks like Thomaz Bellucci pulled out and is replaced by Matosevic that's probably lucky.

I see Robson will have another crack at Radwanska I wouldn't write off her chances but it's a shame she's not more on a winning streak. Still, a great opportunity. I wish her the best of luck there.

Not at a tournament like this unfortunately.  You can perhaps get close enough for a quick word when they are out on the practice courts but other than that, the players are kept well away from the crowds.  Will be wearing my "Aegon Davis Cup" T shirt though to try and catch Andy's attention smile

Looking forward to it though.  Hoping Laura can pull off a big upset today so that she is still in the tournament when I get there.

Still sure you'll have a great time Bob, hope all goes to plan!  I've sent you a PM about Davis Cup.

Random stat: every past winner of this tournament since it became a masters went on to win that year's Wimbledon.

Robson wins! great performance and a privilege to watch. That's the best I've ever seen a lady Brit play
She took almost every break opportunity that came her way and hit seven bells out of it from the beginning to the end. Radwanska looked rattled after the opening set and could hardly play her game at all in the second bar a few sweet drop shots.
Robson really should and deserves to back a performance like that up with at least another couple of wins.
The tournaments have changed for her this year, no more scrabbling through qualifying using up precious energy.
She could find herself in an even better position next week with more favorable draws :)
Robson has a massive game I want to see it coming out more and more. If it does then there is no ceiling for this girl.

Justtimthen - there is a separate thread for the ladies, and Laura's match was discussed on there. I can't find how to move your post, so if you would like to repost there, please do!

We can forget about Tipsy, who must be going through one of his "blowing cold" patches at the moment:  he was beaten earlier by 6-7(5) 3-6 by Juan Mónaco (WR 19), whom Andy has met four times since 2009, beating him twice (the Miami Masters in 2009 & the Shanghai Masters in 2010) & also losing to him twice.  Significantly (perhaps!), Mónaco was the victor in their only previous encounter on clay (the Rome Masters in 2009 by 1-6 6-3 7-5), but Andy's a good bit older &, I'd like to think, wiser now...

Still on serve but Andy's movement on the dirt looks much better than in Monte Carlo.
