Laura still hasn't won a tie-break this year, which has contributed to her losing a few matches where she could easily have won.

Yes, would have been a heck of a lot more optimistic if that TB had been won.

But did pick up in that first set, whether by her good play or her opponent's less good play or a combination of both. I certainly still give Laura a chance.
