Interesting. The rankings for the MD entry dates for Indian Wells and Miami are these of 6 weeks before, 22/01 and 05/02 respectively, so it would be through participating in their qualifying that Cam will have any chance of making these MDs. I imagine that he will be ranked high enough for qualifying though not sure how big the qualifying fields are,
The irony of it, the Home of lawn Tennis is rapidly becoming a dirt ball nation! This week must have given Cam an immense amount of confidence on clay, his game naturally suits it and playing more clay court Tennis will not also enhance it but also help him on other surfaces.
Fantastic week just live DC for developing players
Agree if it develops them and I do indeed think it does. But I wouldn't use Davis Cup selection as a development tool, more be glad that it does, so more reason to hope we are back in the World Group again next year, though the play-off may have its own pressure for one or two. Like I believe Leon always does I'd select to give us the best chance in whatever tie at the time, well subject to not playing about with a player's fitness beyond the tie. But he and the player can agree on that one, such as with Kyle.
In fact, with 3 PR entries, it appears cut off is 101 initially. With Fed and Andy not playing, that takes it to 103, so cam is one place out and next in
For some reason Cam isnt in the Barcelona qualies despite entering, nor does he appear in Budapest. Unless he has chosen to play in Francaville qualies it looks like he has withdrawn again?
He cant be injured, given he played team tennis, I wonder what he is playing at? Unless he has in fact decided clay isnt for him right now and is going to pop up as a WC in Glasgow and Loughborough??
