The French woman now serves for the match
One step too far for Anna?

A great effort from Anna but couldn't quite complete a hat-trick of victories from a set down.

5-7 7-6(9) 2-6

Good guess from Jaggy1876 Welldone and to Anna for the week's work

However, you can clearly see the progression from the Swedish $10k's earlier in the season and I fully expect Anna to soon be winning earlier rounds more easily and thus having more left in the tank for the later stages and finals.

To my mind she's already playing at a level of about 550-650 at worst.

Hard luck this week Anna - two times a losing finalist - but look forward to wherever you appear next.

I think she's my favourite player of all right now

shame Anna couldn't win through but she obviously progressing. Should be in with a good shout of coming through for a Quallies WC for wimbledon in pre-qualifying i'd think

Yes, probably at least that. She'll rise about 200 places over the next two Mondays to around WR 750.

Managed to see The British girls playing IN Edinburgh last week.

Anna Brogan played really well against Michel just couldnt hold to her serve in the second set but kept breaking her opponents looks a good prospect.

Maia Lumsden won first round against Sella -Maia hits the ball well and aims for the lines , second round was beaten by the German who had that bit more experience, My worry about Maia is she is so small needs to bulk up still looks like a wee girl but she is a good player.

Anna Smith was really good did not see semi or Final saw first round against the Estonian and Anna played really well she was really pleased to win in fact chuffed I would say by her expression.

Danielle played well in first set against Anna serve seems a bit unorthodox but I think Danielle can rise in the rankings seems to have a desire.

Nicole Peterson I spoke to her she is looking for another ranking point for her third ranking tournament, no funding from LTa her Dad is driving her around in his car!
Unfortunately Nicole lost to the beautiful Swedish player IN edinburgh! lol

Disappointed in Fran Stephenson no fight no game and she looked unhappy ++ can she survive another year on the tour I would say unlikely.

Jess Ren love seeing Jess playing she beat the French girl in first round after a really bad start. Jess can she progress or will she go to the USA ==one for debate I think.

Got a chance to speak to Sam Smith (yeah i was gobsmacked!) she tells me Joss Rae has disappeared off te scene . Asked about Georgie Stoop was advised she had retired now coaching(anyone know differently)

Also chatted to Naomi Cavaday who is coaching young kids from Serbia and Croatia with a few younf British kids++ private scheme not funded by Lta.

Edinburgh is a nice tournament to go to as long as you bring your brolly !!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the short and snappy reports Glad you got to go along. A pity about Joss and Georgie, but I'd guessed that by now it was unlikely they'd come back.

Pity about Fran too - she made such a good start to last year but then it all seemed to go wrong. I imagine there's a good reason we don't know about.

Joss Rae has started training again.. her injury isn't 100% but hoping to start competing again this summer... doubles and maybe few singles matches including a rumoured appearance at aegon team tennis this weekend!!!

Georgie- yes coaching, I think mainly for the Annabel Croft academy set up out of NTC... She was keen to play again when she recovers fully but unfortunately I can't see that happening any time soon, so her plans may have changed!
