Re the top 500, Oli will almost certainly drop outside on Monday on 57 points, with WR 500 currently being 59 points and quite a number of players on both 59 and 58.
For the following Monday, 13/5, he drops 1 point so the 2 so far this week would put him on 58 points, so quite possibly not back in as yet.
Then on 20/5, he drops another 18 points from his Newcastle title last year.
But, anyway, I think we are interested more long term with Oli so just good to see him winning again, and hopefully more progression to come.
75 less 18 due off on 6 May (Bournemouth WIN last year) = 57 .. less 1 due off on 13 May (Edinburgh L16 last year) = 56 + 3 so far due to be added on 13 May from this week's Pozzuoli QFs = 59

OK. So I was too lazy to look up the "points off" for the following week and was just working off the Top 25 sheet. Consequently, I missed the extra point to come off.
I've often been tempted to add another column for my own use, i.e. a "nw" (next week) points coming off column to go with the "nw" points going on column ... but I fear there are more than enough columns already!
And yes, 3/4 GB doubles Final here - Oli & "Dennis" against the Skupskis

This opponent looked a step-up in class from his previous 2 (#1957, #1335) and it showed in the scoreline.
But the reality is he was still ranked only 750, about 300 places below Oli. This is a $15k, and whether seeded or not, draws don't come much more straightforward than this - so to come out with 3 ranking points from beating 2 players ranked well outside 1000 is a massive bonus, and a good break.
Overall, better than his previous tournaments, I suppose......but no celebratory bunting needed quite yet!
Some perspective. His good friend Jiri Vesely, who Oli beat to win the US Open Juniors in 2011 is through to yet another CH semi, having already won 1 CH tournament this year and could well be top 150 on Monday. Players mature at different speeds, but winning is a bad habit to start losing.
Italy again next week. Just looking for week on week improvement with some $10k tournament wins to follow later in the year.
