Pauffley lost the first set 6-1.

Starting to think someone should suggest to young Mr Coric that there are more glamorous locations for him to be playing tennis.

Yes, but Borna pretty much lives here, so it's really a home away from home.

Count those days spent here and rustle him up a passport quickly LTA!

By the way, hysterical tweet on his account a fews days back from a young British girl who announced herself as a ballgirl at Bournemouth and personally wanted to say how brilliant he was......not sure she was focussing too much on the tennis, but since it's exactly the sort of thing my daughter would do if she plucked up the courage, it did make me laugh biggrin

Well done for turning that around Fitzy He now plays top seed Dan to see who (most likely) gets the doubtful privilege of meeting Coric in the semis (though he will have played and won 12 matches in consecutive days by then and playing his 13th on a Friday LOL) ... of course the extra 4 points are a worthwhile reward!

Great win for Ashley, who lost 2 & 3 to Marcora earlier this year - and you'd have thought Italians would be better on clay too (though I guess a real Italian clay court specialist wouldn't be playing in the UK!)

All we need now is for Richard to help Folie to keep up his unenviable record in GB Futures this year and Coric to run out of steam, and then ...

Ashley is really picking up a head of steam at the moment. Same with Tom F. They seem to be hard to roll over, even if they lose, and not afraid to win as well. Both of them seem to hold their nerve in tight matches. Great to see.

This will be a very good test for Luke Bambridge, one which I suspect will be a step too far for him the way Hewitt seems to be playing, but it would be nice to see either player have a good run to the final here. We're all still waiting for a conclusive and sustained breakthrough from any of the "Famous Five" (Morgan, Golding, Broady, Edmund, Bambridge) in the pro game yet.........I'm sure our collective fingers are crossed, but I rather enjoy seeing other players like Ed Corrie rise from the pack and excelling too.
