Hi guys. Sorry for the delayed response on here.
I had to rush to the airport after my match to try to get on the next flight to Germany for my league match. Have not stopped since.
Got the win today 76 76. Looking forward to a day off tomorrow to be honest.

So!!! To the finale. Which I have not yet had a chance to celebrate or really think about.
Definitely the most ridiculous match I've ever been in. I was way down as you all were aware. Not in a great space mentally struggling in the wind and also every decision I made was the wrong one. I just thought f it I'm going to make every ball in the middle of the court for the next few games. He gave me a way back in and from then onwards I didn't look back. Found intensity, upped my level and started playing how I can.

To be down like that and come back twice in the space of one week shows me that I have it in me to create chances until I lose the last point. Which is comforting. I have always battled away and to come through a week like this is fantastic. The support has been up there as well so thanks alot for all of that and the continued support.

There was no injury jut a slightly cut leg which he did in anger because I was getting back into the match. I just went on a roll with games and given one end was massively against the wind it was just about momentum.
I want to take massive confidence from it, learn to not be in that mental state with so much on my shoulders at the start of a match( want it too much that you can't play properly and start feeling sorry for yourself) .

So on to Newcastle tomorrow when I land at stanstead I will get a train to Newcastle. No rest for the wicked!

Thanks again guys

Just to say, how brilliant to have the 'real deal' on this tennis forum, I really enjoyed reading your post, much appreciated.

Best of luck at Newcastle, to you, the other Brits and indeed all the players. Have a great week!

Following the footnote on Steven's chart, Simon Ede, the Australian who lost to Neil Pauffley in the first round, (born 1992, currently ranked 869) is indeed now listed as British on the ATP site.

So welcome to him . . .

I'm still not sure about this - it's because he was shown as AUS on the ATP site that I mentioned the possible switch in the first place. Nobody has confirmed (or denied) it yet and he still shows as AUS on the ITF site.
