Brilliant! Absolutely great news for him and for his ranking! Wonder what his end of year targets are now? A couple more weeks like this and you'd have to be a fool not to think hes gonna keep climbing past his CH

Is Fitzy still playing Newcastle? He has tweeted he is trying to fly out to Germany

I assume that's for a German league match and he'll be back in time for Tuesday. Though it sounds like the need for a last-minute flight might make that less lucrative this week. Still, well worth it for 18 ATP points!

Great stuff by Fitzy. It will be really interesting to see how the rest of the year shapes out for him.

Oops, I wouldn't have retweeted that had I known it was so pointless. LOL I usually read them first but I'm doing lots of things at once today!

I am guilty too !!  I posted the link before reading.  Hence the "edit" to add the comment about it being brief.

I am little late here but well done Fitzy.

Looks like he had a bit of luck this week but after having more than his fair share of bad luck in the last year or so I don't think we can begrudge him that.

Hi guys. Sorry for the delayed response on here.
I had to rush to the airport after my match to try to get on the next flight to Germany for my league match. Have not stopped since.
Got the win today 76 76. Looking forward to a day off tomorrow to be honest.

So!!! To the finale. Which I have not yet had a chance to celebrate or really think about.
Definitely the most ridiculous match I've ever been in. I was way down as you all were aware. Not in a great space mentally struggling in the wind and also every decision I made was the wrong one. I just thought f it I'm going to make every ball in the middle of the court for the next few games. He gave me a way back in and from then onwards I didn't look back. Found intensity, upped my level and started playing how I can.

To be down like that and come back twice in the space of one week shows me that I have it in me to create chances until I lose the last point. Which is comforting. I have always battled away and to come through a week like this is fantastic. The support has been up there as well so thanks alot for all of that and the continued support.

There was no injury jut a slightly cut leg which he did in anger because I was getting back into the match. I just went on a roll with games and given one end was massively against the wind it was just about momentum.
I want to take massive confidence from it, learn to not be in that mental state with so much on my shoulders at the start of a match( want it too much that you can't play properly and start feeling sorry for yourself) .

So on to Newcastle tomorrow when I land at stanstead I will get a train to Newcastle. No rest for the wicked!

Thanks again guys

Newcastle is eagerly awaiting your arrival, weather forecast isn't shocking either which is a major plus.

Wow, not much of a trip from Edinburgh to Newcastle, but some folk must complicate it LOL

Very well done on Edinburgh, Fitzy, and good to see these TBs still going well in Germany.
