Robyn appears to have qualified for the main draw!

... or in other words (the Venezuelan tennis federation tweeter is wrong about the round, they played QR1 today but also the FQR matches like Robyn's between players who both had QR1 byes) ...

There is a mildly intriguing story possibly to be told about the mysterious globe-trotting Ms. Beddow.

As in Spain, though it sounds like they haven't given up on today quite yet:

British women are 0-9 in ITF main draw matches today - we could do with Amanda (or, er, Robyn) getting a chance to break the duck.

Btw rain is forecast for each of the next 7 days in Caracas ...

Hey, at least at 15:00 it was just drizzle. I tend to think rain indications more point to it being very likely that there will be some rain than to the length of it. And in many foreign parts that can be much more of the short, sharp variety than we are used to like err continuous drizzle, ah - think I may be waffling.

Two matches were completed in the end and one of them was Amanda's, whose R1 and R2 opponents have just lost their rankings as points from a 10K here in mid-April last year came off:

R1: BEDDOW, Robyn Q 1098 v PODOROSKA, Nadia (ARG) 626 (CH 594 last Nov, current junior no. 190) - 9 am local = 14.30 BST on Wednesday
R1: CARRERAS, Amanda 5 313 beat CARDENAS, María Andrea (VEN) UNR (CH 1036 two weeks ago) by 1 & 1

R2: CARRERAS, Amanda 5 313 v BLANCO, Carmen (VEN) UNR (CH 901 two weeks ago, current junior no. 139)
