R1: DEIGMAN, Laura 995 v SHLOMO, Keren (ISR) 2 508 (CH 359 last May)

A horrible-looking draw but a ray of hope, perhaps, in that Shlomo's last 5 matches (all in Israel) were:

- beaten in straight sets by a player ranked 620
- thrashed 1 & 0 by a qualifier ranked 824 (also junior no. 7, however!)
- beat an Israeli wild card ranked 1052
- beaten in straight sets by a player ranked 688
- beaten in 3 sets by a player ranked 1143 (not a top junior)

Many congratulations to Laura on making her second $10K doubles final. She previously won the event in Williamsburg in June last year, partnering Julia Moriarty.

Best of luck for the final.

A frustrating disappointment in Israel

F: Laura DEIGMAN/Keren SHLOMO (GBR/ISR) [1] lost to Pia KONIG/Ester MASURI (AUT/ISR) 0-1 RET

Still, Laura should get a new doubles CH of about 575 out of her run to the final here
