Finishes 6-4 5-7 2-6

Decent effort from Bally, albeit a similar patter to her previous two matches. Hopefully she can get an easy draw first up in the next ITF to get a victory.

Yes, Similar pattern.

However she should get stronger and will soon be back to winning ways ...........hopefully

So close. I hope she doesn't lose confidence as she's had tough matches against good opponents. Lots to be positive about

According to my calculations, this will take Nicola into the top 300. Another win and she should be on the brink or possibly inside of the top 275.

Not a good time for Elena to comeback really, she could do with some faster surfaces while she builds up her fitness. Being realistic, I suspect she will be looking to get her fitness to as good as possible in time for the grass and use the clay as a springboard for that rather than worrying too much on results.

Preceeeding match now just started set 2.

CoCo may be out for revenge today. Though #1 seed, she got hammered 2 & 0 by Kremen in the singles earlier.

Having opened promisingly and raced to *2-0 and *3-1, Nic & CoCo were 4-5* down.
A nice leaping intercept BH volley from Nic recovered the break though for *5-5
Nic held her serve for the first time 6-5*
And they break for the set courtesy of a Kramperova DF. Nic's slice lob return of serve playing a key part in the game.
Nic & CoCo: 7-5

I've just watched the first three games of the second set and the standard is awful - full of DF's and unforced errors

Well, each to their own.

I don't think anyone is claiming it's Djokovic vs. Nadal.

I've watched the whole match, accepted it for what it is, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

CoCo & Nic clearly enjoying themselves, blew 3 match points at 5-3*

But take it 7-5 6-3

QF: Nicola SLATER/CoCo VANDEWEGHE (GBR/USA) defeated Katerina KRAMPEROVA/Ilona KREMEN (CZE/BLR) 7-5 6-3
SF: Nicola SLATER/CoCo VANDEWEGHE (GBR/USA) vs. Maria-Fernanda ALVES/Jessica MOORE (BRA/AUS)

Alves was Sam Murray's partner in her run to the $100K final in Midland at the start of February, and looked a pretty canny doubles player at this level.

Watched the last 4 games, like Nic's backhand and volley's not so sure about the serve and forehand, but didn't really watch enough shots to judge.

Fair comment, especialy about the serve. Footwork could also do with improving. Very nice to watch her play.
