No idea about the hard court situation but you are absolutely correct about the "carpet" tournament. That was in Alicante where I saw him win the final beating Carballes Baena, 7-6 in the 3rd.

And looking ahead all the way to.....err, next week....he's actually playing in Segovia which is a hard court tournament. Busta, I should never have doubted you.....Senor All-Rounder
Not looking good for Busta (aka Carreņo ) who is now 4-2* down in the decider against Riba. He was broken in the 1st game of the final set, but despite the fact that he has had break points in all three of Riba's service games, he has yet to break back.
A further swap of breaks can't stop Riba seeing out the 3rd set 6-4.
Not to be for PCB, but the 29 points will give him yet another CH ranking at around the 110 mark. Not Top 100 yet, but surely it is only a matter of time.
Yet another Challenger semi for Busta where he will play Chiudinelli in Segovia. Victory would see him inside the Top 100 for the first time. And with two unseeded players in the 2nd semi, he would have a great chance of adding another title and moving to about WR 90.
Well, the whole Busta thing sort of passed my by but I'm rooting for him because Chiudinelli is currently on my list of 'most disliked' players (bet that scares him . . ) after all those ridiculous unsporting theatricals against Dave Rice and Ed Corrie . . .
Success for Busta, but not without having to save 4 BPs when serving for the match.
Yeah. This whole Buster thing. A lot of us got really excited by his run in the Futures earlier this year and the fire was fuelled when I saw him pay Kyle in Cartagena. And whilst the enthusiasm of most has dropped off, I guess my Spanish connections have led to me continuing to follow his story. And From Qualies at Turkey Futures to Top 100 in about 8 months is quite a story.
As for the final, he will play Olivetti (FRA), who only a month ago was getting beaten by GBs very own Joe Salisbury in Manchester.
And Busta goes on to win the final, without dropping a set in the entire tournament.
These 80 points (90-10) will take him into the top 100 for the first time somewhere in the low 90s. And with no points to defend until Feb of next year, I expect him to go a lot higher very quickly.
Dear Bob-all-over-the-world, Watched your Busta man yesterday on the livestream - very good match - Lorenzi was on form too - both players going to the net a surprising amount, but as part of a classic clay court strategy, not the traditional approach shot way. Only watched a bit but thoroughly enjoyed it. Think that your Busta bloke will probably have not too much trouble beating the Frenchman although being leftie and with a one-handed BH he's a bit of a rarity which sometimes causes problems. Anyway, hope the burger business is going well . . .
PS never seen a court and a match actually being blessed by a priest before, prayers, incense and everything . . .
