What a shame. A great effort, hope she can carry this form and fight forwards.

Another in the infuriating series of recent matches where the Brit(s) win more points in the match but are the loser(s).

Darn, * 2 - 1 up and 3 - 2 * up, but 2 DFs at * 3 - 4 leave her 3 MPs down at 3 - 6 *.. Saves the first, but not the second.

Negreanu wins 6 - 7 (4) 6 - 4 7 - 6 (4)

Disappointing end, but overall that looks a very worthy effort by Pippa. I hope she can really build on this week.

Jade off to a flier winning the first 3 games, but the Romanian has got 1 break back (though it's a match where holds may be more significant)

Jade 3-1*

Two more breaks: 4-2*

Jade saves breakpoint to hold for a second time and take the first set 6-2

As in the first set Jade wins the first 2 games, but this time the Romanian manages her first hold

6-2 2*-1

Normal 'service' resumed with 2 breaks

6-2 3*-2

Negreanu holds after multiple deuces

6-2 4*-3

The pattern has changed to holds - one more will do

6-2 5*-4

 Jade obliges without alarm to win 6-2 6-4, so has the chance to defend her title

Jade has played Pirazhenka twice before. The Belarussian won both times but Jade is getting closer - after being thrashed 1 & 1 in Tallinn in 2010, she took her to 3 sets in Sutton last month.
