Gosh. Hoped Freya and Gabi especially would have had more competitive matches - tough draws though

Good looking win for Jade. Sad Gaby couldn't sneak some more games in her 1st senior match, but we shall see how she does over the coming months/ years as she plays more  - same for Freya.

Good start from Georgia. Anna Smith looks like she is in another topsy turvy match. Eden had a great start but seems to be fading and Sabrina has been pegged back after a good start.

Things go from bad to worse for Eden. I wonder whether her form has dropped, her opponent's has improved or a combination of the two.

Eden 6-1 3-6 *0-4

Georgia 6-4 *1-2

Anna F 6-4 *0-0 Jess

Sabrina 4-6 *0-0

Anna S 6-3 0-0*

Pippa is indeed a big shock, but if memory serves me, Lucy has won quite a few opening sets only to lose the match(fitness)

Well i said i'd be happy of one GB girl beat a non GB girl and Anna came up trumps, but as we keep saying in such a weak tournament our depth of GB girls that can play at this level is really poor.

Well done Anna, but to be fair she does have a pedigree if she can get back to the form of old.

So how many of the 5 can we expect to progress? I'd say 3 would be fair 4 good and 5 very good. 2 would be disappointing and anything less a disaster.

2 years ago Pippa was looking very promising and won the British U18 event. Then she turned her ankle in the Osaka Super-mega Junior's cup of the universe thingy, and had a poor year last year. Let's hope this is a sign she's recovered the ground she lost now.
