Great news about Lisa. Well done to her, and all the best for a tough final assignment.

Again Lisa shows those strong mental qualities, I think you have to nearly rank her alongside Hev and Bally when measuring those qualities.
Kumkhum is a major stepup but winning would now be a big bonus but why not.

Nice comeback, even if not quite enough. A good week.

No disgrace in that result, against a player in Kumkhum very much on the rise, playing mostly WTA events with good success in the last 6 months, having beaten the likes of Keys, Svitolina, Daniilidou, Arvidsson etc.

The resolve and application shown in the second set is particularly encouraging, after nerves or acclimatising to the sense of occasion perhaps saw the first set run away, Lisa managed to show that she could trade against this quality of opponent.

Very well done to Lisa and wish her more continued success on the Asian tour and beyond.

Yes very encouraging second set, her ability to dig deep is a very important quality.

It's funny, I was just thinking yesterday, it's been a remarkably long time since I've got into trouble with Lisa for tweeting something that was supposed to be nice ... wink

That did make me chuckle, yep Lisa sometimes does react in a curveball manner. Having said that it probably wasn't the most flattering of pictures.

Yes, I'm sure there are better pics of her, but she looked good in it to me despite the cap she objected to having to wear (otherwise I wouldn't have bothered tweeting it), but then it's usually the case that we think pictures of ourselves look worse (in my case, even worse LOL) than other people do.

I thought Tara might move up a place or two today, but sadly for her desire to be ranked 1xx, she is still WR 200

Having said that, it will probably feel like more of an achievement if it happens after a good week than after a week when she went out in R1, so maybe it's a good thing after all.
