RE: Week 17 - Great Britain F9 ($10,000) - Bournemouth (Clay)

Coric played most of his ITF matches on hard courts, but already KOed a Spanish seed here, who should be comfortable on clay. Took a set of Marzi at Chiswick last year as a 15 yr old.

Assuming he has progressed(junior ranking suggests this), i'd make Coric favourite. Bookies might not pick up on this....

That being said Coric is a brilliant prospect. I watched him play at Chiswick last year and even at the age of 15 he looked like a really good player. Also seems like a very nice lad and lot more mature than some of the Brits who are a few years older than him.

I share your thoughts, including the last sentence.

I believe Borna is part of the training group with Alan Jones, Jo Durie, David Felgate that includes Donna Vekic and a number of British and overseas young prospects. This group is backed by a Private Equity multi-millionaire, and got a lot of PR in the last few weeks. Not sure if Naomi Cavaday is involved somehow or not. They share accomodation and training. Donna tweeted a fantastic photo of herself and Borna when they were 8 or 9 years old in the last week or so.

Thanks for the info.

Re-reading her tweets, Naomi is definitely coaching Ivana Jorovic (a 15-year-old who has been top 60 in juniors already and, perhaps more impressively, already top 750 WTA) http://www.itftennis.com/procircuit/players/player/profile.aspx?playerid=100165518 - it's possible that she was just asked to keep an eye on Coric too today rather than being directly involved with his coaching.

It's not just you. There yesterday, gone today.

Most other tournaments working fine. Flashscores also not showing GB (men or women), so I assume it's a local problem with inability to upload data in the usual way - will surely be on the LTA's agenda to fix hopefully as they are still pointing to the ITF site for live scores on the LTA homepage.

Carpenter served for the first set at *5-3 but Coric broke, finally capitalising on his 10th break point of the set.

Hewitt took the first set 6-2

Top seed, Patrik Rosenholm, currently a set and *1-4 down to unranked (at least until Monday week) Cameron Norrie (NZL)

Norrie is world junior no. 10 at the moment though.

But still a shock if he pulls it off.

Is it just me, or has the Bournemouth tournament completely disappeared from the ITF Livescores site ?

ITF livescores back on. I suspect there simply must have been a delay in getting started in Bournemouth (can't imagine rain, but whoo knows) as there appear to be no points on the board anywhere. Good sign that play's about to get underway

Play probably has started but once ITF live scores miss the start a match they tend not to cover it at all.

Looks like you are right, RJA, as all the matches on ITF livescores are the second up matches - across the Board. So we have to rely on good old LTA tweets!!

Quite a start from Toby Martin - he's 5-0* up against 2nd seed Bega!

Martin took the first set 6-2 but has been broken in the first game of the second set.

Quite a turnaround, and not in a good way - Bega has just bagelled Toby in the 2nd set.

6-2 0-6
