Not doubles, obviously, but I see Dmitry Tursunov has emerged from his post-DC hibernation to upset David Ferrer 6-1 in the 3rd here!

So Mr Ward can say he beat the man who beat Ferrer on clay .... (Sorry about the loss, actually, as Ferrer seems to be a very decent person, and he's not having a great run at present)

Obviously after receiving a belated tennis education at the hands of Evo and Wardy we will now see Tursunov achieve all manner of great things.

The usual case, presumably, of our Davis Cup opponents being inspired to great things. I always used to think that beating GB inspired them and that once our boys started to win, they'd be inspired too, but the last couple of years or so have suggested that our opponents get inspired to push on even if they lose to us and our players don't whether we win the DC ties or lose them.
