Pity to see this recent form from Jamie. He has come back so well in the past, but this is not good.
I was just looking at the ranking points. If you just count points post Wimbledon, Jamie and James would be behind Boggo, Josh G, Evo and Ed.
James was out for mostof the second half of last year though. He was the last Brit to play Berman too - dropped just 4 games against him on the way to the West Lakes Challenger Final.

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
Isolated results apart, Jamie's game didn't look in a good place pre Davis Cup, which was presumably the real issue re him ultimately not getting picked for the Davis Cup and quite likely his performance here.
He seems a generally pretty strong character, so I would be reluctant to attribute too much to his non selection in Coventry.

Well obviously his non-selection in Coventry won't be the cause of his problems but being dropped in such a high profile manner is hardly likely to have helped.
Very fair point re James, Steven, and he certainly overall still looks GB's second best player to me.
But just re the rankings order, come the summer I could see many different scenarios, including Boggo backing into the GB no 2 slot and even Ed rising to no 2.
We've currently got a crop of players increasingly moving into the top 700 ( Ashley Hewitt will be another on Monday week ) with the top players falling out of the top 250.
I dont know what to say about Jamie. But at least he TRIES to play CH events and enters the occasional ATP qualy, so the spirit of what hes trying to do is fine. Josh G, well, let's move on...,,.,
Will be fascinating to see the tournament choices of that group of players from 270 to about 400, because as Indy said the #2 spot could be in the hands of just about any of them post Wimbledon. Unfortunately they might achieve that with a ranking around 250, but I'd like to think we can have a couple of players back inside 200 by the end of the Summer. Ed seems to be building a very solid block of points, so that he can attack the grass court season without much fear.....expected a few CH tournaments, but a few weeks in Greece (as long as it isnt a long run) is fine I guess. The wildcard is Dan E. Who knows. At least with Dan and James, when they are good you can point to top 100 levels, with others......not sure
Hoped Neil might be in the mix at the start f the year. Nope!
