To a degree, but only to a degree. Obviously the above four have done well but Baker, Pauffley, Willis, Burton, Marsalek, Ward, Fitzpatrick and Carpenter have all lost to players ranked lower than themselves. I think the success level of the week is still in the balance.
First set may be beyond Ed, but unless his opponent is having "one of those days", I'd certainly back the "New Ed" to gradually work his way back into the match, make it competitive and then find a solution to win.....
Just lost first set 2-6. Nothing on opponent's serve at all.......
The only match all year where you'd say Ed was beaten easily was against Freddie Nielsen, otherwise all of his losses have been tight 3 setters, so this first set is a little worrying. Ed's first service game looks like a real must to hold.

I know Ed Corrie has done really well climbing the rankings but I wonder if he is this years Josh Goodall dominating Futures Events In Uk? Anyone got an opinion on this? Is he better than Goodall ?
At the risk of upsetting a few people this is exactly my view. Ed is a very solid player with a good attitude and he has had a great start to the season but I honestly don't see anything in his game that makes me think he will ever be anything other than a good futures level player. I will be delighted if he proves me wrong.
