RE: Week 16 - Challenger ($100,000) - Sarasota, FL, USA (clay)

Bozo & Dev it is:

R1:  (Q) Ilija Bozoljac & Somdev Devvarman (SRB/IND) WR 841 (*) vs (2) Jamie Murray & John Peers (AUS) WR 23

(*) As Spectator intimated yesterday, these two are distinctly dangerous.  Bozo has a CH of 122 in July 2010 & Dev 62 in July 2011 & they had two matches in the qualies to adjust to the courts in Sarasota.  That said, Jamie & John, who shot up 41 places to 23rd in yesterday's rankings/race courtesy of their heroics in Houston (  ), are becoming more of an established pairing now, so we can but live in hope...  They're also the highest seeds left in the draw after Booty & Bruström bombed out overnight against Steve Johnson & Bradley Kahn by 5 & 3.

Stevenitis - it's obviously quite contagious, 1st Stircrazy and now RJA. I'm getting one of those mouth masks.

Normally I blame my mistakes on excessive alcohol consumption but alas I can't use that excuse for last night.

I usually blame mine on the Count's rubbish programming skills. That's if he hasn't got in there first.

I'll predict a straight sets win for James Ward

Much as I would love to see Kyle win (sorry Wardy), if I were a betting man, I would be inclined to agree with you.

Wow, that court looks horrible!

Wardy 2-0 up

Those green/grey clay courts in the US always look horrible.

Hold to deuce, break to 30, hold to 30 - relatively close games but James has won them all. 3-0*

The umpire is trying her best to be helpful but she doesn't half make the ears hurt LOL

Right now it's hard to call it anything other than a beat down, and ward isn't really having to do much at all

Good to see Kyle get on the board by getting one of the breaks back. I think the most neutral result psychologically would be a win in two reasonably close sets for James. I certainly don't want Kyle to get thrashed.

It looks like James swapped shirts with Tursunov, got the day-glo green one and is now wearing it LOL (I don't really think it's the same one though)

Deuce on Kyle's serve but he holds for 2-4*
