Well done Neil! Lucky with the retirement, but great to come back from 0-3.
3 GB wins out of 3, all against higher ranked players, including 2 with gaps of 400-500. Shouldn't have happened, but it did, and seems to be happening with great regularity amongst many of our men.
Feel like comparing this with recent GB women's results........no, I've just had some cheesecake so mood is good. Move on!
Excellent news and good to seem Tom and Jack picking up valuable points which should see them into the GB top 25. If Tom continues at this rate i can see GB 25th ranked player ranked well under 700.
The competition to be part of the top GB 25 is really hot at the moment. Great to see the depth there. Time to increase the number of GB players inside the top 500 and also the top 300.
Tom I think has a little to go to reach the GB top 25, but a QF win would do the trick, well if Jack doesn't also get a QF win !
It certainly is getting very competitive for the prestige of being in Steven's top 25 table !
Seriously, yes, you would hope for an element of the numbers game, that the more GB can get achieving one level, the more might then push on to the nect levels

I never knew they cared so much LOL
Of course, they don't care in the slightest. Or maybe it is a tiny incentive in between the "top 1000" and "top 500" targets for one or two, who knows - any incentive is good!

QF: (1) Radu Albot (MDA) WR 234 vs Neil Pauffley WR 474 QF: (8) Adam Pavlasek (CZE) WR 432 vs (Q) Tom Farquharson WR 832 QF: (Q) Thiago Moura Monteiro (BRA) WR 453 vs Jack Carpenter WR 779
They're all going to be fighting against overwhelming odds again!
Yes - although Tom upset Pavlasek last week, so he'll hope to do it again.
Monteiro was world junior no. 2 early last year (the Copa Gerdau in 2011 was his biggest junior title, I think) and is on a 12-match winning streak, having won last week's title from qualifying.
Neil has played Albot once before, but in juniors - the Moldovan beat him at the Orange Bowl back in 2007.
