She reached the $250K final and then won two rounds in the French Open collecting 198 points and 130 points (both on clay). She didn't play between the middle of October and the end of December last year.

Seems to me a perfectly reasonable main draw WC for SSE ( given we have such things :) ).

Disappointingly they gave the last QWC to next in rather than Anna (stuck in Nottingham, so missed the WC play-offs)

Maybe, but in truth Anna has not done a lot in singles this year, so I don't think that there was that strong a case.

I also don't see the problem in her MDWC, it seems logical and fair to me.

Anna has played very little singles recently, so I'm not surprised. She did withdraw in Japan, so I'm not sure if she is struggling with an injury preventing her from playing singles at present.

The 2 points (minimum) should take Freya to WR 960 or so, which will get our top 25 women back to all being in the top 1000, and give Freya a CH

Anna is focussing on doubles at the moment, but I think she'll play a bit of singles from time to time.

Anna rightly took up the opportunity to play Eastbourne doubles
