So this will give Gabi her first two WTA points ? Not a bad way to start, getting them at a Grand Slam qualifier :::)))

If she gets a good draw and wins, she will go straight into the rankings inside the top 1000.....

So happy for Em.

Nice to see so many of our young girls giving it a go.

Well done to the two qualifiers: Ms Webley-Smith really belonged in the qualies by the standards set by the LTA ... but now she has the additional pleasure of having qualified and proven the fact!

A well earned pay day as well is it not about £4000 pounds for playing 1st round qualies which is about the same as winning as 25k isn't it?

A tad less - £3,375 this year, up 12.5% on last year - but nice and healthy, especially for a girl just turned 16 smile

(Mind you, do the youngsters have to be careful if they are thinking of maybe going to US college? Is there a no-pro earnings rule?)

I was thinking more for the likes of Em and Jade the prize money here should keep them going especially I'd they win a round or two. Emily probably has as good a chance of winning a round as the Wild Cards.

Yes, I'm sure it's extremely welcome smile  It's £6,750 if they manage to win a round. And, as you say, why not? There are always some women who, whatever their ranking, look really uncomfortable on the grass - hope Em plays well, good luck to her (and Jade and the others of course).

One other question to those in the know about prize money I prob ask this every year but do qualifiers get qualifying money as well as 1st round money of they get there?

I'm assuming no but surely qualifying has to be worth more than direct entry.

This is the prize money sheet.

No, I don't think you get your quali money if you then make it to the main draw, you just get the main draw amount. But you do get extra points.

Seemingly, Vera Zvonereva, as well as Taylor Townsend and Silvia Soler-Espinosa, has also a Main draw wildcard for Wimbledon

What on earth merits SSE getting one (no offence!) I would sooner see one of our youngsters give the MD a crack

Reached a tour final from qualifying after the entry lists came out and is now ranked 73, so would be main draw comfortably using current rankings.

A clay court final, not grass. A tour final is good but WCs arent supposed to be for women who would be in the MD if they hadnt been in poor form until recently.
