4 matches in this tournament today. 3 retirements, and Fitzy's match where he lost the first 9 games. Wonder if the playing conditions were beyond reasonable limits. Something sounds wrong here!!!!!

Add to this that 2 of the seeds pulled out before the tournament started, to be replaced by LL. Not to mention that the guy Fitzy beat in the first round made the semis last week and won two of his 3 MD matches by retirement.
Does certainly look as if conditions have been playing a part here. Is Vietnam not known for potentially exceptional conditions ? Looks as if maybe exceptionally exceptional ?
Fitzy: "So then @jwardhibbert into the final with a solid 75 76 win. @SotoTennis see what we can do in the dubs final in a few hours. #progress"
He must mean semis for Josh, but still an excellent result, taking him into his first Futures singles semi-final
QF: (Q) Josh Ward-Hibbert WR 1024 beat (3) Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan (IND) WR 406 (CH 330 in 2012) by 7-5 7-6(3)
SF: (Q) Josh Ward-Hibbert WR 1024 v (2) Lucas Pouille (FRA) WR 372 (= CH)
H2H 0-1, 2 & 1, QFs 2 weeks ago. If his scorelines against Fitzy are anything to go by, Pouille is getting better week by week rather than worse, but so is Josh and it'll be interesting to see how he does against him this time.
Steven: I've edited the result to show the tie-break points, as both the ATP & the ITF sites have now been updated.

By my calculations, that win alone will jump JWH up to about 870 in the rankings, with potentially more points to come. He faces a tough semi, but he is obviously playing well at the moment.
Let's hope that the boys can repeat their doubles success as well.
