The ITF have changed their URL's again. They've finally come out of 'beta' and removed the 'beta' from the lead ins, replacing it with www.

This sort of change is a massive pain to some people that actually use the site, especially, I imagine people like Steven who will probably have to reconfigure all the links in the top 25 tables. cry

These are mistakes that web hosting companies were making in 1993 - not having any automatic and seamless redirection in place.

It doesn't speak at all well of the ITF they they still do so today. disbelief

All true  (and it's certainly not just the ITF among tennis sites that still does it - the most recent WTA downgrade was many times worse from that point of view) but I did change the ITF links a while ago, which is why they all still work on the more recent tables.

Excellent win for Lucy Brown and good to see a couple of GB girls making the main draw and knocking out foreign opposition.

I make that 9 GB girls into the main draw

4 x WC
3 x direct entries
2 x qualifiers

Hopefully this will be a successful tournament for the GB players. Expect Anne to go well, no reason why Tara cannot perform like she did a few weeks ago over in the states and any other girls picking up wins will be a bonus.

Excellent win that by Lucy, who has looked in pretty decent form for some weeks, threatening to do something like this.

korriban, no reason at all why we shouln't expect our fair share of such victories. The more particular discussion point that I was not alone in making re the recent GB 15Ks was in having no real expectation of any out of 7 or 8 non ranked Brits with no particular senior form upsetting players in the world 400s to 600s. You disagreed, fair enough, but that is a different scenario to players in say the 600s to 800s in the rankings beating players several hundred places higher.

Really hope that Naomi can continue in that serving vein. Yes, such an asset ehen it is going well, I just wish it was much more reliably very good.

Tough draws for Naomi, Lisa and Tara. The rest must have decent chances of getting through. Suprised that we have no all GB clashes given the numbers of GB players.

Yes, was no doubt odds against no all Brit clashes.

It is also a very bottom half weighted draw for Brits. Jade is in the first quarter, Mel is in the second quarter, and then these last 8 ties listed above actually make up the bottom half of the draw.

So Anne and Tara are in the same quarter and we could theoretically secure a guaranteed British finalist after Round 1, although I'd say odds against that !

Naomi wins 7-5 and a cracking scalp to claim in Vogt

Lisa lost 6-2 6-3

Lucy has been showing good form recently and should be ranked higher than she currently is. Lets hope she goes and finishes the job.

Anne should win easily, Tara has a difficult match as Barrios did well in France last week and any joy from Sam or Jade would be an added bonus.

Katy is in cracking from and i wouldn't be suprised if she won. Emily should be favourite in her match. The latter two are not on live scores.
