Still going well. Will be interesting to see how well Bally copes as the victory line approaches after such a long break from competitive tennis.

Bally had 15-40 in the last game but doesn't get the double break - probably the first opportunity she has not taken

still leads 7-5 *4-3

You were right to be a little bit worried.

1 set all - Elena needs matches, so a 3 setter won't be a bad thing.

Very tight.
Elena has been working hard on her fitness and stamina, but is she match fit for a long 3 setter?
Let's hope so. Go Bally!

I'll be very impressed if she can win in three sets first match back. Break points at 4-2 were crucial in that set.

Had it in the bag, but now lack of any matchplay is taking its toll.

Was going to write that it was quite a positive comeback performance from Bally despite it getting away from her at the end, but the retirement makes it much less positive. Hopefully nothing serious but not getting through the first match back puts her fed cup participation in doubt.

Very encouraging, much more competitive from the outset than could be realistically expected, and so good to have her back.

We'll see how she de-constructs it with her team afterwards.

Only negative to take is retiring at 1-5 - surely you see it out (serious injury/illness excepting)?
