RE: Week 14 - Egypt F1 $10,000 - Cairo - Clay

Oli: "Didnt play badly today at all. Just again didnt take my chances, still playing better everyday tho! Just need to start winning matches haha"

... which is pretty much what people have described & surmised on here.

Andy Murray is invariably crest-fallen when he loses. I'm glad that Oli is being positive, but I guess I expected a bit more, a bit sooner (this is tournament #3 and country #3 post comeback), especially against mid ranking opponents, and perhaps a less philosophical commentary. Dominic Thiem was out for 8 weeks and has gone Final, Win in his first 2 $10ks. So it is doable.......I don't see the difference.

Oli was US Open Junior champ, 2011 world junior #3, trained with Andy last winter, and got a Wimbledon MD WC last year at 18, so I dont think its unreasonable to have expected a few more "signs" of moving to the next level by now. He's a big unit physically, so I don't think he would be one of those David Goffin types who need a good few years to be competitive physically on tour, and I guess I expected to have seen a few more notable scalps.

Come on Oli, would love you to start making a few people sit up and take notice.
