That's a new one, "travesty of justice" for not closing out a tennis match earlier, hmm. But at least she got there in the end.
Anyway a welcome additional 7 points for Emily for her R2 win, and she can now go for.a whole further 3 points in the QFS LOL.
Point taken Here as the context is what I'd prepared if Emily had lost: Aargh! Tennis is stupid!
Emily served more Aces and fewer double faults. She had more total break points and broke serve more times. She won more total points in the match, and more total games. She had more match points.
And yet... she loses! Aaarggh!

Good win from Emily in the end - I'm pretty sure that makes her the first British woman to reach the singles QFs at a women's 15K (not a big deal to someone who has reached a 50K Final, obviously, but still a first!)
It seems odd that she was up first today to play a R2 match when most of today's other matches are held over R1 matches, but hopefully that will mean she is well rested for the QFs.
Not realising this at first, I was trying to work out how Emily could be due to play Julie or Océane next when the only Océane up on live scores today was playing Sadikovic. Turns out two Océanes are playing here, enough to ensure a sea of confusion ... (igmc)

Ha Ha, yes that would have been frustrating to ssy the least. Well worth an "Aaarggh !"
Can be so annoying in many ways, but ultimately I love the tennis scoring system. And, full of frustration as I've sometimes been, for me ( assuming such as no injury issues, very important bad calls or outragious luck ) the person that deserves to win is the person that wins the final point. Often it is not how many points, but what points.
Hmm, I wonder how withdrawing from an ITF doubles event ( number one seeds at that ) so that one of the players can go and play tennis elsewhere would be officially regarded.
Of course, the withdrawal may be for some other reason ( / excuse ). Maybe Emily needs to rest some strain...

Yes, I know - I wrote that just after doing the BT R1 updates on the T25 table, I'm aware it could be any number of reasons.
