A surprise but welcome reappearance by a Brit who was top 700 a couple of years ago but has, as far as I know, been dogged by injuries since and hasn't played on the circuit at all since September:

At least she gets a ranking point for her efforts in being there.

Nothing against Jennifer, but more ranking points nonsense from the WTA giving a point for WTA tour QR1 exits including qwcs. The ATP don't even give ranking points for regular tour main draw first round exits and still nothing for such exits for WCs in Slams and Masters.

I agree and to be honest a waste of a wild card really as well. Holiday opportunity taken it seems, if it was serious you wouldn't vstarr back at that level.
