Sototennis (Dan): "Realities of the Tour: top seed here in Vietnam pulls out after 5 games due to heat exhaustion.. Don't underestimate how tough you need to be to play professional tennis"

That's the American, McClune, leaving Q, Q & LL through in R2 so far (+ probably 5th seed Jebavy)

Meanwhile, in the other half of the draw, Fitzy is a set up, 6-2 3-2*. The main difference so far seems to be that he has played the big points better, taking 3/7 break points while saving 7/8.

In fact, after two close games at the start, Nguyen got the first break to love and then Fitzy hit back in style, winning 6 games in a row biggrin (note: don't make him angry furiouswink)

Fitzy breaks and serves for the match, only for Nguyen to get his 2nd break of the match, again to love. Where did that come from?!

LOL sorry, Bob. Still the wrong Nguyen too - though all that really matters is that Fitzy won

"62 75 win, happy to get through. Had to dig deep as my body felt on fire in the heat. Some amazing crowd celebrations for the local #atmos"

serious heat today on court, got control of the match after not the best start, centre court is different to the rest, i prefer it but it took some getting used to.
He caught fire with the crowd in the second set and i just stayed with myself and always felt like i was going to break him, and did so well at 6-5 in the second set.

play a decent german guy tomorrow / or the day after, have to wait to see what the schedule is like. ive come back to the hotel to get out the heat. people cramping and pulling out all over the place, seriously hot today. Regardless of who you are.

I think that as i was leaving josh broke the guy he was playing, so hopefully he is going to get a win, i have confidence in him, he is playing well.

Well done today.

JWH seems to be putting up a very good fight against Recouderc - Dan has just tweeted that he's into a 1st set tiebreak. Relatively easy R2 for the winner as well, so plenty to play for!

Lost 6-2 in the third set. But sounds like a great effort against a very good player.
