Coin pays for missing those chances as Anne converts her second set point to take the first set 6-4

GSM Anne Keothavong
6-4 6-3

Quite a wonderful return to form for Anne this week, so pleased.

Sandra Zahlavova awaits in the final.

This does indeed seem to have been the perfect tournament for Anne to find some form against very decent opposition even if, like her, they are some way off their best in ranking terms. 4/4 for Anne this week against players who have been in the top 60 and next she gets one who has 'only' been in the top 80:

SF: Anne Keothavong WR 209 beat Julie Coin (FRA) WR 198 (CH 60 in 2009) by 4 & 3 biggrin

FI: Anne Keothavong WR 209 v Sandra Záhlavová CZE WR 229 (CH 78 in 2010)

H2H 4-1 (the loss was a retirement, albeit well into the 2nd set), including most recently a 7-5 1-6 6-2 win in Luxembourg last October.

Today's win means she will definitely be back in the top 200 (baby steps!) at about WR 190.

Yes!

F: Anne Keothavong WR 209 defeated Sandra Záhlavová CZE WR 229 7-6(3) 6-3

Edit - I must've miscounted the MP's - who cares, she still won!

Zahlavova struck back to get it to 4-3, but Anne just held serve to steady the ship and maintain the advantage: 5-3*
