Joko stopped VCR recording a sixth straight game and I bet Joko wishes she could rewind the first set.

Johanna, too, makes a bid for entry into the subconscious competition amongst the GB girls to see who can underwhelm the most in the last few months.  h

Stopped the rot though, and better in the second *2-1

I'm very tempted to tweet (though obviously won't) "please, GB girls, give me something positive to tweet about this week!"

I'm also slightly regretting tweeting an early update on this match, for the same reason as I'm glad Anna's match wasn't on live scores and that I missed Hev's match yesterday.

Stiill, having been broken back and then broken again, JoKo in turn broke back and held serve for 4-4*. Cepede has just held to love though so JoKo is serving to stay in the match. 5-7 *4-5

Just noticed in the ITF live scores JoKo is still an Aussie flag!
And she's lost broken to lose, 4-6 in the second

Oh dear!

I did say it was a difficult draw, but still a disappointment.

It's never ending at the moment. All the girls are, week in week out, failing to close out sets and matches from massive leads.

It's worrying times, the form of our top 3 going into Fed Cup is not inspiring. Gotta hope for something from Laura tonight.

L32: (4) Johanna Konta WR 151 lost to Verónica Cepede Royg (PAR) WR 204 (CH 172 last Jun) by 5 & 4 b

Btw if it's any consolation, the GB women's results were pretty awful between Eilat and the WG II playoff last year (of course, we lost the playoff last year, but things did get better later in the year)

Seriously, just not really been clicking for JoKo recently, though overall she's not been that bad. I hope that she can find something soon ( some missing link ) to get her back on a better path.

All our top players surrendering big leads recently is a bit bizarre, but they have no real history of this, and I can only think it is all pretty coincidental.
