QR1: Nik Slater WR 770 v Jessica Lawrence (USA) WR 768
Nik: "Poor poor decision by director. Former 119 current 212 and a former 157 currently 233 in world fly in day of sign in, miss the sign in. He has double digit amount of alternates who signed in and he gives the professionals 23 and 29yr old the 2 local WCs...eh!???"
As it turns out, the winner is likely to play top qualifying seed Kathrin Wörle (GER) WR 212 (CH 119 in 2010) in QR2.

I think it could've been a lot worse. I can't see that VCR has recorded many wins of note recently.
I was more thinking about the surface and the fact that VCR played to a decent level in Bogota, also her form at the end of last year on clay was very solid.
Field is not that strong so to play a progressive young player whose favourite surface is easily clay I believe is tough.

I agree could have been a lot worse - i'd expect JoKo to win this. Little form this year from her opponent and she is quite a bit of her career high in 160's
