i remember watching sugita beat alex at Nottingham ch qualies a few years back (rain forced indoors), he was so quick, plus he could handle pace very well. Alex's best moment came from mixing it up a bit rather than trying to blast it past him, hopefully James can have more luck in the 2nd set, was pretty close.

Sugita mostly seems to be hitting balls to a decent length and James is currently just making the errors. If the error count went down this match could still turn around as he certainly has the firepower to out hit the Japanese player.
