Week 12 - Challenger ($35,000+H) - Rimouski, Canada (Hard)

Jamie gets the top seed in R1, Boggo could get 2nd seed Jaziri in R2 and James could get 3rd seed Sugita in R2 doh

L32: Jamie Baker WR 209 v (1) Vasek Pospisil (CAN ) WR 128 (CH 85 last Jul)
L32: James Ward WR 210 v Denis Zivkovic (USA) WR 296 (CH 295 last Oct)
L32: Alex Bogdanovic WR 314 v Qualifier

Even getting a qualifier may not be a great draw - Authom WR 159 (who thrashed Alex 1 & 2 in R1 here last year and ended up in the Final), and Moriya WR 184 are both in qualifying for some reason and the other players seeded to qualify are de Voest and el Mihdawy.

Looking on the bright side, Jamie beat Pospisil in two tiebreaks in their one previous meeting, a Futures QF in Little Rock in 2011. However, Pospisil is the defending champion here and he also beat Authom and Berankis to qualify for Indian Wells, where he lost to Istomin in R1.

Jamea *1-2. My word his opponent has a good serve. The rest is fairly average, but that serve will take some patience!

Now James *1-4. All the winners (backhands are superb) and UEs (forehands) on James racquet.......I think James is the better player, but his return of serve actually is very poor today.......must get it in play! Too many ralleys aren't starting

Now *2-5. Nothing special about his opponent at all.......once ball is in play, James is clear favourite to win points, but that's not happening.........yet. Lots of time to turn it around

First set 3-6 Zivkovic

James 3-0* second set. Much better.

James 5-0*. Perfection. Honestly Zivkovic is hopeless once they start rallying - no offesnive weapons and VERY slow.

James should cruise this if he stays solid. Now able to return serve as well.

Ward due to get underway soon, in the qualies so far seeds 2,3 & 4 are through, and top seed is a set up in his match.

The sliced backhand is getting a lot of points via unforced errors.

As long as James can get the return back in court, he'll win this match comfortably
