At least much more competitive in the second set. Very poor to be bagelled in that first set.

Are El-Effendi & Walsh going to play outside Dallas this year?

Ah, I wondered where Dom Inglot had gone this week after seeing Huey partner up with Janowicz in Indian Wells.

Dom & Booty had a bit of a rocky start, dropping their opening service game, but they recovered the break in the tenth game.  The first set then went to a tie-break, which they proceeded to win by 7-2.

Ah well.  It was good while it lasted:

QF:  (3) Edouard Roger-Vasselin & Igor Sijsling (FRA/NED) defeated (WC) Adham El-Effendi (USA) & Darren Walsh by 4 & 3

At least they have 25 points for their pains, though I dare say the 45 on offer for a win would've been more welcome...

Neither of the boys lost his service in the course of the match.  Dom & Booty starting to settle as a partnership?

QF:  (2) Eric Butorac (USA) & Dominic Inglot defeated André Begemann & Martin Emmrich (GER/GER) by 5 & 3

****

SF:  (4)  Johan Brunström & Raven Klaasen (SWE/RSA) WR 108 vs (2) Eric Butorac (USA) & Dominic Inglot WR 90

All four seeded pairs justified their seeding.

Would you Adam & Eve it?  The top seeds, Melzer & Petzschner, are through to the final without striking a ball in the semi:  ERV & Sijsling gave them a walkover!  furious

That's quite a final for a Challenger, even a Challenger being held in the second week of a two-week tournament.

Very good for Mr Inglot, as it would have been unfortunate had he not been successful at this level when his partner was having such sterling success in the Masters. Anything from here on is bonus, given Melzer/Petzschner's status.
